Harvest in the Gardens is a charity event that sprouted
from 9-year-old Weston Hannan's love of farming.
Weston's infectious smile lit up the fields as he, Jerry
Tierney, and Tierney Farms planted their 1st annual crop just three years ago. Weston's passion and genuine tenderness for people and the land warmed the hearts of his family and his neighbors, They were the basis for forming Harvest in the Gardens, a non-profit organization focused on sharing our bounty with those less fortunate.
The annual Harvest in the Garden’s event has been a
great success with the support of our sponsorship team and local community members. During the first three years the event has raised over $48,000 to provide direct meal support to those in need. With this success the event has become a significant contributor to the Sun Prairie and DeForest area Blessings in a Backpack
programs while continuing to provide additional
financial support to the Sunshine Place & the Deforest
area Food Pantry.

All Proceeds from Harvest in the Gardens go to the Sunshine Place, the Deforest area Food Pantry and Blessings in a Backpack

Sunshine Place started as a vision of a small group of citizens in 2001. Established in 2007, Sunshine Place has become a single point of access to social services for Sun Prairie residents in times of need.

The Deforest area Food Pantry helps our local community throughout the year, and especially during the Holiday season, by providing necessities to families and individuals in need.
